My notes that accompanied the work when sent to the Collectors: Iconic LA; dark purple as an homage to Prince (RIP) who died the day sketching started on this; British ‘Thomas Pink’ drop shadow; and palm trees crossed with NZ ferns (a nod to the artist’s roots); hotel architecture re-imagined in California’s ‘Desert Modern’ style; nighttime setting inspired by Amy Wallace’s rooftop photos shared with the artist; faint muddy paw prints on the inky sky courtesy the artist’s cat, Clarence.
